Jim is a Vice Chair of the firm and a member of the firm’s Management Committee and the Diversity Executive Committee.
Jim is a corporate lawyer whose practice includes private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and corporate governance. He helps clients navigate the challenges of a competitive landscape, collaborating with them to develop legal strategies to protect against meaningful risk while achieving important business objectives.
Jim has a wealth of experience working in the energy industry and has also advised clients in industrials, shipping and technology. He regularly counsels the management teams of private equity firms and public and private companies on a variety of investments, joint venture transactions, and divestitures, as well as on corporate governance and other general corporate matters.

Meritage Midstream Services II in connection with its acquisition by an operating subsidiary of Western Midstream Partners in an all-cash transaction for a purchase price of $885 million
Apollo Global Management in connection with the sale by New Fortress Energy (“NFE”) of 11 LNG infrastructure vessels to a newly formed venture owned approximately 80% by Apollo-managed funds and 20% by NFE, in a transaction valued at approximately $2 billion
PureWest Energy, a leading Rocky Mountain independent natural gas producer, in the completion of an all-cash merger with a newly formed entity sponsored by a private consortium of family offices and financial institutions, for a total consideration of $1.84 billion
Apollo Global Management in a strategic partnership with Johnson Controls that will provide sustainability and energy efficiency services to help customers address decarbonization and operating cost goals for their buildings
