February 11, 2010 — Vinson & Elkins was honored with the 2009 Outstanding Pro Bono Partner Law Firm award presented for the first time by the Austin Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC). V&E lawyers Bill Volk, Wes Jones, and Milam Newby attended the ACC-Austin's annual General Counsel Panel and Sponsor Appreciation event held in December and accepted the award on the firm's behalf. The award was presented to V&E for our dedicated collaboration in providing essential legal services to low-income Central Texans at Volunteer Legal Services' legal clinics. VLS of Central Texas helps low-income clients access the civil justice system by providing volunteer attorneys who donate free legal advice and representation, and by supporting and training those attorneys.
