On Wednesday, September 25th, the Firm’s Vice Chair Michael Holmes, Complex Commercial Litigation practice group head Chris Popov, and Austin-based Partner Marisa Giles will be presenting a Practising Law Institute program entitled “The Latest on Texas’s Business Courts: What We Know and What You Need to Know.”

On September 1, the new Texas Business Courts will open their doors to hear complex commercial disputes. This new judicial organization was designed by the state in hopes of making certain types of business disputes and litigation more efficient. The panel will discuss what we know at this point and what we can expect from the evolving court structure, rules, and judges.

While there are a number of strategic questions, both for litigants and inhouse lawyers, our panel will provide clarity as to the specific business disputes the court will hear, as well as the essentials that lawyers should know regarding this significant development coming out of the great state of Texas.
