  • Trimble Navigation, a developer of GPS systems and software including surveying, mapping and marine navigation equipment, in its $335 million acquisition of TMW Systems, which develops enterprise software for transportation and logistics companies 

  • ArcBest Corporation in the approximately $180 million acquisition of Panther Expedited Services, Inc., a North American transportation and logistics provider

  • Underwriters to Heartland Express, Inc. in a $89 million public offering of common stock by a selling stockholder

  • Underwriters to Covenant Transportation Group, Inc. in its $67 million public offering of common stock

  • ShippingEasy in the $55 million sale of the company to Stamps.com

  • Apollo Global Management in the acquisition of a majority interest in Tidewater Logistics, a leading provider of frac sand supply chain solutions

  • (Tex.); (Tex. App. – Corpus Christi) – Obtained affirmance of unanimous intermediate appeals court ruling that Texas Central is classified as an interurban electric railway company with eminent-domain authority to build the high-speed train between Houston and Dallas—a ruling that reversed the trial court’s judgment, which had held that Texas Central did not qualify as such

  • (E.D. Mich.) — Defending a leading automobile parts supplier and its affiliates in what has been described as the largest class action multi-district litigation in U.S. courts; we also coordinated with counsel representing the client in parallel litigation in Canada and other countries; V&E negotiated a favorable settlement on behalf of our client in the largest cases and continues to represent the client in remaining claims by other putative classes

  • Successfully pursued breach of contract claims against a U.S. government prime contractor, a provider of integrated logistics, in an AAA-sponsored international arbitration resulting in recovery of $35 million (net) for the client; this matter was followed by another arbitration in which the client pursued breach damages for a subsequent contract period; recovered, via settlement, another $55 million (net) for client, after succeeding on a motion for summary judgment before the AAA tribunal

  • (E.D. Tex.) — Represented individual inventors as Plaintiffs in an action against two major automotive manufacturers on patents directed toward truck storage systems

  • Represented a port warehouse and short-haul trucking company on union matters in ports in California, New Jersey, and Ohio

  • (Ala. Circ. − Mobile Cnty.); (W.D. Ky.) — Represented one of the nation’s largest railroads in multiple putative class actions and individual toxic tort actions, arising out of a train derailment, in Kentucky state and federal courts and Alabama state court
