Partner Lucy Jenkins and associate Martin Bontea-Ungureanu authored an article for Environmental Finance which provides a high-level overview of and background to the Loan Market Association’s (LMA’s) recently released “Draft Provisions for Sustainability Linked Loans (SLLs).”
In this article, Lucy and Martin explore the potential challenges faced by market participants. They also examine areas where SLL conventions have not yet been settled and compare certain key LMA provisions to the equivalent principles in the US loan market, before considering certain additional protections that market participants might want to include on top of those already provided in the Draft SLL Provisions.
