Tokyo
As a leading international law firm, Vinson & Elkins opened its Tokyo office in 2004, strengthening our capability to assist clients in Japan and the Asia Pacific region. The Tokyo office serves as a hub for our work across a broad spectrum of practices advising global companies operating in the region across various industries, including automotive, chemical, construction, consumer electronics, energy, finance, industrials, infrastructure, medical equipment, semiconductors, and computer technology.
Our lawyers have been active in Japan since the late 1990s, working with Japan-based companies as outside counsel and in-house counsel. Our understanding and appreciation of Japanese business and culture help us to meet the needs of our clients whether in Japan or their overseas locations.
This office operates as an important base and coordinates with our other offices worldwide. To best serve our Japanese clients, we leverage and take advantage of all experience and resources of Vinson & Elkins, reaching across time zones, geographies, and practice areas.
From our worldwide network we advise our Japanese and international clients with interests in the region on a wide range of transactional, regulatory and dispute resolution matters, including those involving antitrust, intellectual property, corporate/M&A, finance, energy, construction (both front-end and disputes), infrastructure and export control.
