American Lawyer Ranks Steve Gill, Lande Spottswood Among the Top Texas Lawyers in 2024
Vinson & Elkins partners Lande Spottswood and Steve Gill have been named finalists for Dealmaker of the Year and Energy Attorney of the Year, respectively, in the American Lawyer’s 2024 Texas Legal Awards.
The Texas Legal Awards recognize attorneys for their efforts in making an impact on the legal landscape of Texas and achieving extraordinary results for their clients. American Lawyer uses a comprehensive approach to select attorneys and numerous factors including the significance of the issue at stake in the work described, the impact or innovative nature of the work, diversity, practice area and pro bono work are considered in final decision-making
Gill was one of our four energy lawyers statewide recognized for his success over the past year, which included advising CrownRock on its $12 billion sale to Occidental and advising Chord Energy in its $11 billion merger with Enerplus.
Spottswood was shortlisted for Dealmaker of the Year based on her handling of many significant matters, including advising Reata in its $7.3 billion merger with Biogen and advising: Sunoco in both its $7.3 billion acquisition of NusStar Energy and $1 billion sale of 204 convenience stores to 7-Eleven.
