Vinson & Elkins Advises Palmetto Solar in Puerto Rican Solar Project
Vinson & Elkins is advising Palmetto Solar, a leading climate technology company accelerating the adoption of clean energy, in connection with a project to facilitate the installation of residential solar and battery storage systems for disadvantaged Puerto Rican households.
Installation will begin in August of 2024.
Palmetto is partnering with Generac Power Systems, which was awarded a grant of up to $200 million from the U.S. Department of Energy (“DOE”), as part of the Puerto Rico Energy Resilience Fund — a program investing in renewable and resilient energy infrastructure in Puerto Rico. Under the program, Palmetto will own and operate thousands of residential solar and battery systems in low-income communities in Puerto Rico.
The Vinson & Elkins team is led by partner Jorge Medina, with assistance from partners John Decker and Jamie Tabb.
