Vinson & Elkins Announces 2024 Class of New Partners and Counsel

Vinson & Elkins today announced that it elected seven lawyers to its partnership and promoted 15 lawyers to counsel, effective January 1, 2024.

The new partners and counsel represent a cross-section of practices and offices across the firm.

The following is a list of the firm’s new partners:

Peter Danysh

International Dispute Resolution & Arbitration, Houston

Peter’s principal area of practice is complex commercial litigation, with a focus on international disputes. His experience includes work as an advocate in both international commercial and investor-state arbitrations.

James Leader

Commercial & Business Litigation, Houston

James is a trial lawyer who has represented clients in a wide array of business disputes. His most significant matters often involve the complex contractual relationships created between parties to large, long-term projects or M&A transactions. James also represents clients in antitrust matters and in governmental and internal investigations.

Meredith Lyons

Complex Commercial Litigation, Dallas

Meredith’s practice focuses on representing companies, partnerships, and officers and directors in M&A litigation, securities litigation, and general commercial disputes at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts.

Alex Robertson

Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets, Dallas

Alex advises public and private companies, private equity firms and family offices on a broad range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures and capital-raising transactions.

Brandon Tuck

Environmental & Natural Resources, Houston

Brandon’s practice focuses on environmental and natural resources law, with an emphasis on project development, enforcement defense, and environmental litigation.

Caitlin Turner

Finance, New York

Caitlin advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, other public and private borrowers, agents, lenders and underwriters in complex acquisition and leveraged financings as well as on commercial lending, direct lending and other financial transactions.

Patrick Whelan

Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity, New York
