Who's Who Legal Names 6 Vinson & Elkins Lawyers in 2022 Global Arbitration Guide
Vinson & Elkins partners Joseph Chedrawe, Jim Loftis, Scott Stiegler and Louise Woods and counsel Robert Landicho and Alexander Slade have been named in Who’s Who Legal’s 2022 Arbitration guide.
Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration guide identifies lawyers who come highly recommended for resolving complex international disputes. Through nominations from clients, those listed have been recognized by their peers and clients as the leading names in the field.
Chedrawe is an experienced disputes practitioner who has acted as counsel in more than 35 international construction, engineering and commercial arbitrations under all the major arbitral institutions and in ad-hoc proceedings, as well as in cross-border litigation. He has represented multinational corporations, governments and private clients across multiple sectors, with experience in more than 30 countries across four continents. He regularly sits as an arbitrator and appears as an advocate in litigation and arbitration proceedings.
Loftis, head of V&E’s International Dispute Resolution practice, focuses on the arbitration and litigation of international commercial and investor-state disputes and counsels in matters involving public international law and treaties. He handles disputes involving all aspects of energy, construction and infrastructure development; disputes under investment laws and treaties; and boundary disputes, cross-border technology disputes and sovereign debt.
Stiegler is an accomplished international construction disputes lawyer with a diversified practice and a broad geographic reach giving him deep insights into the industry. He focuses his practice on energy, renewables and infrastructure projects, and he has notable experience with high-value, large-scale disputes in litigation, arbitration and other ad-hoc dispute resolution forums. Clients regard Scott as a “commercial and focused lawyer” with real world experience gained from working in-house with a notable global engineering consultancy firm. He is a regular speaker at disputes conferences and a contributor to various legal publications.
Woods’ practice focuses on international commercial arbitration and commercial litigation. Her experience includes arbitration under all the major institutional arbitration rules, as well as ad hoc proceedings. Woods also acts for clients in investor-state disputes. She has experience across a number of sectors, in particular in energy and natural resources and financial services. Woods also works in support of greater diversity in arbitration. She serves as vice-president of ArbitralWomen, a nonprofit that supports the promotion of women in international dispute resolution.
Landicho’s practice focuses in international commercial arbitration, investor-state arbitration and U.S. commercial litigation, and he has particular experience in oil and gas, construction and infrastructure, banking, manufacturing, real estate, franchising and intellectual property international disputes involving Middle Eastern, European, and North, Central and South American parties. Rob is also a current Programs Chair of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA), and is the immediate past-Chair of the Young ITA.
Slade acts as counsel and advocate in both investment and international commercial arbitrations, under a wide range of arbitral rules, seats and governing laws, and also counsels clients on public international law. He focuses in particular on the energy sector, infrastructure, tech/telecoms, construction and post-M&A disputes. He regularly speaks and writes on arbitration, and is on the board of the organizing committee for the 2022 International Arbitration Charity Ball.
