Woodside Petroleum Completes $43B Merger with BHP Group
Vinson & Elkins represented Woodside Petroleum Ltd (“Woodside”) in its merger with BHP Group, a transaction valued at approximately AUD $60B (USD $43B), to create a global top 10 independent energy company by production and the largest energy company listed on the ASX.
Woodside has acquired the entire share capital of BHP Petroleum International Pty Ltd in exchange for new Woodside shares. The transaction closed on June 1, 2022.
