Durgesh Sharma serves as Vinson & Elkins’ Chief Technology & Data Officer. As a global technology leader with more than 25 years of experience, Durgesh is committed to transforming the delivery of digital legal services and championing the use of modern technologies to build client-centric solutions while leveraging strategic artificial intelligence capabilities. He is responsible for the following areas at Vinson & Elkins:

• Digital Transformation Strategy: Leading the charge in building and implementing a digital transformation strategy to champion the use of digital technologies and practices, evangelizing change to drive the adoption of digital capabilities.
• Technology Vision and Execution: Overseeing the vision, strategic planning, execution, and management of all technology aspects, including product development, enterprise applications, cloud infrastructure, core operations, client support, and security services with the goal to enable business growth and innovation through technology.
• Data Lifecycle Management: Defining and managing the firm’s data lifecycle, which involves creating a data strategy and roadmap, developing data platforms, ensuring governance, and delivering capabilities in collaboration with other firm leaders to harmonize data analytics efforts while maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Technology Security Strategy: Focusing on long-term technology security, developing and implementing strategic roadmaps to safeguard the firm’s information assets, including infrastructure, applications, data, endpoints, network, and facilities.

Throughout his career, Durgesh has provided technology and business leadership for multiple Fortune 500 companies across the globe. His experience includes global business applications, enterprise architecture, cloud services, IT and security operations, data services and integrated infrastructure. Additionally, Durgesh has been quoted in the media, including The Wall Street Journal, and has served as a presenter at multiple events for the CIO Council, a leading industry network.

Durgesh began his career in consulting and has worked with premier international corporations. He most recently worked for a global real estate services company where he held several lead technology roles, including Chief Information Officer. He was also a member of the company’s business strategy team and was responsible for the development of several major technology initiatives and innovative products.

Committed to giving back to the community, Durgesh participates in several philanthropic organizations. He served as a technology advisor to EveryoneGives, a website that enables people around the world to connect to the charities of their choice. He also volunteers for the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure and the Nature Consortium.
