Eli’s principal area of practice is commercial and business litigation. His work has covered a wide variety of subject matters including securities litigation, white collar criminal investigations, bankruptcy litigation, and contract disputes.

Experience Highlights
(Okla.) – Defending controller and board of directors against breach-of-duty claims in connection with controller’s take-private transaction of energy company; defending energy company in statutory appraisal litigation related to same take-private transaction
(Del. Ch.) – Resolved for no monetary consideration derivative claim against general partner relating to its oversight of pipeline company’s operations
(London Ct. of Int’l Arb.) – Represented major financial institution in international arbitration dispute regarding unpaid natural gas transactions during Winter Storm Uri
(Bankr. N.D. Tex.) – Along with members of V&E’s Restructuring and Reorganization team, represented Rockall Energy and its subsidiaries in chapter 11 sales process in which substantially all of the company’s operating assets were sold; plan confirmed
(Bankr. S.D. Tex.) – Along with members of V&E’s Restructuring and Reorganization team, represented private equity firm as equity owners of power generation company in chapter 11 proceedings; plan confirmed
Represented and assisted an internal investigation by a multinational private equity fund in connection with a U.S. Department of Justice investigation into alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in Brazil
