Jimmy is a member of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation group practicing in both federal and state courts. His wide range of experience in all stages of litigation include representation in professional liability matters, shareholder litigation, and real estate disputes, among others.

Experience Highlights
(Ariz. Dist. – Maricopa County) – Representing landlord joint venture entity in litigation brought by commercial office tenant purporting to terminate a long-term lease
(5th Cir.); (N.D. Tex.) – Assisted with successful motion for preliminary injunction in lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of an administrative enforcement proceeding against a banking client; currently representing client on appeal in the Fifth Circuit
(Tex. Dist. – Hays County) – Represented law firm that obtained a favorable settlement in action brought by a former client alleging damages resulted from a purported conflict of interest
(U.S.) – Assisted with drafting amici brief on behalf of multiple banking trade groups regarding constitutional issues pertaining to the banking industry in SEC v. Jarkesy, No. 22-859
(Tex. Dist. – Collin County) – Represented commercial tenant client that obtained a favorable settlement in an action against landlord for wrongful lockout
(10th Cir.); (N.D. Okla.) – Member of team that obtained complete dismissal of securities fraud class action filed against aerostructure manufacturer and affirmed on appeal to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals
(S.D. Tex.) Represented technology company that obtained a favorable settlement in a federal securities class action lawsuit
(AAA Arbitration) – Assisted in defense of law firm against claim by former client that law firm purportedly caused client to suffer death-penalty sanctions in underlying litigation
(E.D. Pa.) – Represented energy company and its executives in unitholder class action alleging violations of federal securities laws and derivative litigation
(Bankr. S.D. Tex.) – Represented ceramic proppant company as debtor-in-possession in successfully defeating motion to appoint an equity committee and obtaining confirmation of a contested chapter 11 plan of reorganization
(Tex. Dist. – Harris County) – Assisted in obtaining a complete summary judgment on plaintiff’s litigation-malpractice claims against lawyer and law firm arising from an underlying divorce proceeding, including judgment on counterclaim for firm’s unpaid attorney’s fees
