Jess is a senior associate in our London office and a member of the International Construction Disputes group.
Jess advises clients on a range of complex cross-border disputes with a focus on construction and engineering disputes and disputes in the energy sector. Jess has a particular focus on energy transition projects including carbon-capture, biomass and hydrogen power.
She has experience of arbitration under a variety of institutional rules, adjudications, and of litigation before the English courts.
Jess was previously on secondment at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Tokyo, where she advised on various aspects of their business both contentious and non-contentious.
In 2017, Jess spent 6 months on secondment at ExxonMobil, where she worked on a range of upstream and downstream matters with a focus on downstream disputes, the retail business, and upstream divestments and acquisitions.
Experience Highlights
Advising an EPC contractor on various disputes arising out of a power plant project in North Africa
Acting for a main contractor in ICC arbitrations relating to a rapid transit rail system
Acting in the Commercial Court for an international oil and gas major in relation to a dispute arising under a long-term gas sales agreement
Advising an employer in relation to time and cost claims received from an EPC contractor in relation to the design and construction of a power plant in East Africa
Acting for a European energy major in an LCIA arbitration relating to the sale and prior operation of petroleum licenses offshore West Africa
Acting in LCIA proceedings in respect of a dispute under a Joint Venture Agreement regarding a US$500 million development project in Russia
Acting in the Technology and Construction Court for a multi-national construction and engineering company in relation to the public procurement process for elements of a large UK railway project
Acting for the main contractor in an adjudication regarding the construction of an onshore substation for an offshore wind farm
Advising a European biomass power plant owner in relation to issues arising under a fuel supply agreement, including claims in respect of delay and breach of quality obligations
Advising a real estate investment trust in relation to disputes arising out of a UK hotel project and acting in a related adjudication
