Meghan is a member of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation group. She has served as counsel in matters involving federal securities laws, shareholder activism disputes, class actions, breaches of fiduciary duty, breaches of contract, fraud, negligence, and other commercial disputes. She has prosecuted and defended cases in federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels, and in arbitration.
In addition to her litigation work, Meghan’s practice also involves conducting internal investigations, compliance counseling, and defending companies and individuals against government investigations into a broad range of conduct, including matters related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, antitrust laws, and cybersecurity and data privacy laws. Meghan has been designated a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Meghan also serves on the firm’s Associate Advisory Committee and Pro Bono Committee, and maintains an active pro bono practice.
Commercial Litigation
Represented the Special Litigation Committee of a public technology company in connection with allegations of insider trading by senior executives, in response to shareholder derivative lawsuits
Represented companies and boards of directors in securities and business tort litigation brought by activist shareholders that resulted in favorable settlements
Represented biotechnology company in contractual dispute, and obtained multi-million dollar award in arbitration
Represented private retail business and its executive management team in derivative action and offensive countersuit involving co-investors, and concerning issues of fraud, contract and fiduciary violations; obtained summary disposition eliminating majority of liability exposure, and litigated remaining issues through arbitration hearing
Represents transportation company in putative class actions pending in federal court, as well as individual actions pending in state court
Represents shareholder activist in pending federal securities litigation
Represented company in connection with internal investigation into data breach
Represented the audit committee of a public company in Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission investigations concerning alleged FCPA violations in the Middle East
Represented a Silicon Valley-based technology company in government investigations concerning alleged FCPA violations
Won grants of asylum for several individuals before USCIS and Immigration Court, including serving as first chair in merits hearing
Represented individual in appeal of Board of Immigration Appeals decision
